The Wells College residence halls are your "home away from home," and are designed to be a community where you can learn, live, sleep, and be comfortable in. It is where you'll learn about yourself, others and the world we live in; it's where you'll have the opportunity to take on challenges, discover leadership opportunities, and learn to be an independent thinker.  You'll have the opportunity to interact with new people, explore new interests, and learn to solve problems.

Fall 2017

Thanksgiving Break 2017

Dates

Classes end on Tuesday, November 21 at 9:50pm for Thanksgiving Break and resume on Monday, November 27 at 8:00am, 2017.  All Residence Halls will remain open during Thanksgiving Break at no additional cost to students. 

 

Although the Residence Halls will remain open during Thanksgiving Break the Office of Residence Life and the Office of Campus Safety need to be aware of who is staying on campus during the break.    

 

Registration: If you plan to remain on campus during all or any portion of the Thanksgiving Break, you must register online here .  If you plan to leave before Tuesday, or on Tuesday at any time, you do not need to register.  If you will be returning to campus Sunday only, you do not need to register.

 

All registrations are due by Friday, November 17, 2017 at 4:30pm.

 

If you are leaving campus during Thanksgiving Break, please remember to:

  1. Close your windows and draw your shades if in a first-floor room.
  2. Unplug all appliances including your alarm clocks. Your refrigerator may remain plugged in.
  3. Empty trash in your room.
  4. Remove/store all perishable food that roaches or other pests could get to.
  5. Turn off all lights and lock your door behind you.

 

Dining Hall

Please note that Dining Services will be closed for the duration of Thanksgiving Break.

 

The last meal served in the Dining Hall prior to Thanksgiving Break is dinner on Tuesday, November 21.  The first meal served in the Dining Hall after the Thanksgiving Break is dinner on Sunday, November 26, which begins at 5:00pm.

 

If you have questions about Wells Dining during the break, please contact the Wells Dining staff at wellsdining@innsofaurora.com or go directly to the Dining Hall for additional information.

 

 

 

Transportation

All requests for Thanksgiving Break transportation must be received by 5:00 pm on November 18. All the necessary information must be completed on the request forms in order for us to schedule a shuttle ride for you.

UNDER THE "GLOBE". GO TO STUDENT TAB, TRANSPORTATION.

DEADLINE FOR REQUEST ARE NOVEMBER 18, 2017.

If you have any specific questions about Transportation, please contact the Transportation Department at 315-364-3321.  If you cannot get in touch with Transportation, please call Wells Campus Safety at 315-364-3229, they are open 24/7 and transportation is not.

Housing Accommodation Request Forms

These forms serve as a starting point for a conversation - fill them out as best as you can, and a staff member from Campus Life will reach out to follow up on your request. 

Step 1: Fill out the "Housing Accommodation Request Form"

Step 2: Supplement the above form with appropriate addition documentation (for medical accommodations), or supplemental form (for gender accommodations or housing exemptions) 

Any information disclosed on these forms is confidential. The Dean of Students (Jennifer Michael), Director of Campus Life (Meg Flaherty), and Assistant Director of Student Success (Megan Riedl), if appropriate, review accommodation requests.

The first floor of the Green House includes a Living Room, Family Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Mud Room and 1/2 bath.  The Green House is the home of the Sustainability Learning Community and houses seven students.

The Green House is open to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.  The second floor includes three double occupancy and one single occupancy bedrooms and a full bathroom.
